Dominic “Goldenchyld” Cueto, accomplished DJ/Producer/Artist from the Bay Area, approached us with a request for a branding pivot. Goldenchyld wanted to change the way the general public perceived his brand. PR imagery was non-controlled and his web presence was not translating who he was as an artist, so naturally, brand policing through controlled values was the answer. Our project started with collecting data and applying branding science by researching the competitive landscape, brand values and desired results.
The artist transformation began at the roots through understanding Goldenchyld’s current clientele, a key element in new brand evangelization and understanding the growth pattern of his brand. We spoke objectively about the existing brand, color theories, and the vibe of the new brand. Ultimately, this was much of a collaborative effort because Dominic had such a high appreciation and understanding for design that this project was enjoyable and educational.
